Our purpose built Pilot boat ‘Spitfire’ was designed and built specifically for the purpose of Pilot/Crew transfers by the reputable ‘Norman Wright n Sons’ in Queensland, Australia. Our vessel is in full AMSA 2C survey for 2x crew and 12x passengers to 30nm and is capable of 22knots with a cruise speed of 12knots.

Transfers usually occur off the Newcastle coast at the ports dedicated anchorage located approximately 7 nm south of the harbour entrance. Crew transfer operations can happen both at anchor or whilst underway depending on requirements and vessel operations. When underway your vessel can come to within the 4nm of the harbour entrance to conduct transfer operations. Vessels passing Newcastle in either direction can be reached with minimal disruption to passage planning and with Newcastle airport so close to the harbour it is an ideal location for fly in/fly out repatriation. Our services can include pick up and drop off from hotels, Newcastle airport or train station.
